A funny thing happened on the way to the remainder table...
Easter Monday morning I received an email from a bookseller in Ontario. "Penguin just informed me that the rights to Spider’s Song have reverted to you," she said. "Are you selling/shipping the book?" Apparently she'd just taken an order for 12 copies form a local school, and was hoping they were still available.
But...rights? Reverting to me? This was news to me. Unsettling news. Had the publisher dumped my book and forgotten to tell me? A few emails with my agent, and my editor, straightened everything out. It was an error--some sort of miscommunication. The book is still in print, and Penguin still holds the rights in Canada.
US rights, however, are being held by TLA, so any interested US publishers out there can go ahead and snap them up :-)
Silliness. All's well that ends well.

Egads!
I'm glad it got sorted out. But great news that the orders keep coming in, esp for schools.
Yah, that is sort of unsettling. But luckily the ugly rumour wasn't true...
Twelve more books sold! Yay!!
